Pushing the Boundary of Arts and Technology: Wearable Art and Else

Creative Technology Forum presents Professor Younghui Kim from Hongik University, Seoul, Korea on "Pushing the Boundary of Arts and Technology: Wearable Art and Else", hosted by the Office of Provost and the Fashion Studies and IAM departments

Professor Kim will present her recent work in the field of new media art, defined as wearable technology art, where she has combined physical computing technology and soft textile design.

Younghui Kim's wearable technology art projects were presented in numerous exhibitions worldwide such as Emerging Technology Gallery, SIGGRAPH 2004, Gwangju International DesignBiennale 2005, and FutureFasion 2006, Social Fabrics 2008, Leonardo Journal, HCI 2010, DALSMA 2011, ISEA 2011, Geumchun Art Space 2012, and Art Center Nabi. She tries to express the art of everyday things created with technology, where her audience can interact and experience by using or wearing.

Younghui is from New York and has joined Hongik University as an
assistant professor since 2007 and has been teaching and researching
digital media art. She is also a participating researcher at the WCU Research program funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology through the National Research Foundation of Korea (R32-20067)
