One Tribe Workshop: Hiding Behind the Internet: Hate Speech on Social Media

Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 12:00pm to 1:30pm

Multicultural Affairs, Multipurpose Studio 618 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL, 4th floor

Join One Tribe for an interactive workshop on hate speech on social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook. In this workshop we will show examples of online bullying and hate speech and will discuss how each of us can help to prevent and combat this problem. NOW is the time for YOU to use your voice and to stand up against hate speech and bigotry.

There will also be a number of hands-on activities for you to participate in to help encourage you to create change.

This SPECTRUM workshop is presented by Shane Gabler & Thumy Phan.

Part of One Tribe's SPECTRUM: Shining Light on Social Issues, a series of workshops designed to engage the Columbia College Chicago campus in discussion and action on the world's current social injustices. SPECTRUM is fun, interactive, and a great way to make new friends!
