Embodied Creative Practice with Mira Shani

How to Access Your Intuitive Mind

with Mira Shani

Much of what we do in college has to do with refining our thinking processes, but creatives know that it is not only thinking but intuition--what the painter Raegan Russell calls a "gut-felt impulse"--that really knits a work together. Intuition is a part of the mind that has been mostly banished by Western philosophical traditions, to the extent that we often only access it by accident and in the absence of more rational modes of knowing. But non-Western traditions offer a refined and disciplined framework for a type of knowing that happens with and through the body, which is the place that this part of the mind tends to reside. In this five-part workshop, Mira Shani will lead a series of workshops for creatives who want to better understand and use their intuitive minds in their practice.
