The Creative Writing Reading Series welcomes Terese Mailhot and Chris L. Terry.
Terese Mailhot is from Seabird Island, British Columbia, and is the New York Times bestselling author of Heart Berries: A Memoir. Her work has appeared in Best American Essays 2019, Guernica, Pacific Standard, Granta, Mother Jones, Medium, Los Angeles Times, and elsewhere. She is the recipient of a 2019 Whiting Award and teaches creative writing at Purdue University.
Chris L. Terry was born in 1979 to an African-American father and an Irish-American mother. He has an MA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University and a creative writing MFA from Columbia College Chicago. Terry’s debut novel, Zero Fade, was named a Best Book of the Year by Slate and Kirkus Reviews. He lives in Los Angeles with his family.
