Chi-wang Yang: Visiting Artist Lecture

Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 6:30pm

Raw Space, 205 1104 South Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60605

Chi-wang Yang  is part of the collaborative artist group Cloud Eye Control-a collaborative performance group from LA. A common theme in their work is human adaptation in a technological world. To realize these stories, they project pre-rendered animation and live camera imagery onto various surfaces which functions as scenery and virtual actor using both high and low tech methods. These methods range from custom-built interactive video software to the physical manipulation of video puppets. Chi-wang is an LA based theater director and digital media artist, committed to physical performance and interdisciplinary collaboration. His work synthesizes stage, media, and technology, and has been featured at REDCAT in LA, New York International Fringe Festival, among others.
