Columbia College Chicago

ARTCACHE

Part geocache, part hidden exhibit, part library scavenger hunt, the ARTCACHE gives you an opportunity to brush up on your research and problem solving skills while learning more about the library.

From the 1st Floor Circulation Desk, you can set off on your search, which will take you through highlights of Chicago art, culture, and history (as well as all five floors of the Columbia College Library) to lead you to the hidden cache.

Bring: a pen or pencil to sign the logbook, a small piece of your own art, and your curiosity!

ARTCACHE is a part of Chicago Artists Month, an initiative of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events that showcases the work of Chicago’s independent artists and arts organizations. As a platform for independently-produced events and programs in all disciplines, CAM highlights creative activity in Chicago neighborhoods; encourages tourism and small business development; fosters collaboration and opportunities for creative expression and learning.

ARTCACHE is sponsored by The Aesthetics of Research,  an ongoing series of exhibits, events, and other shenanigans dedicated to exploring the role that libraries play in the artistic process across all disciplines-- from inspiration to creation, from execution to exhibition.
