Exquisite Gallery, Curated by Plural
June 26-July 26, 2014
WEEK TWO: Renata Graw and Charlie O’Geen’s collaborative efforts will be presented Thursday, July 10, 5-8pm.
A+D Gallery is pleased to present our fourth annual Summer Residency with Logan Square-based Plural, a collaborative art and design practice. Focused on a process of research and experimentation, Plural collaborates on meaningful projects in art, design, interaction, installation, music, new media, and technology.
With Exquisite Gallery, the gallery itself provides the canvas for Plural's Summer experimentation. Akin to the Surrealist parlor game Exquisite Corpse, there is no telling what will result in the end.
During the month of July, Exquisite Gallery will transform from week to week. Each week will be led by one of four collaborators with only one rule: that the following week has a tie to the previous week. Exquisite Gallery transforms the gallery space into a creative lab for the generation of ideas and experimentation, rather than a presentation of polished works.
Renata Graw, founder and partner at Plural, is a native of Rio de Janeiro, and is vice president for AIGA/Chicago.
Charlie O’Geen lives in Detroit and works on full-scale architectural and building experiments. His work involves architectural investigations that respond directly to the conditions of a specific site and often utilize found objects as building materials.
