Cafe Society: Discussion with artist Liz Magic Laser

Artist Liz Magic Maser will have a conversation with students regarding her career and performance based video work, including the piece "I Feel Your Pain". This video, which is currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, re-stages political interviews, such as one between Barack Obama and Steve Kroft for 60 Minutes. The video uses body language and cadence to insinuate the progression of a romantic relationship and consider the nuances of communication in politics and love.
