This continuing six-week workshop concentrates on development of conversational fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). Participants learn to accurately recognize and produce signs in ASL with appropriate non-manual behaviors and grammatical features. Workshop is a basic introduction to ASL, and participants develop expressive and receptive ASL skills through discussions of topics such as vocabulary, grammar, history, fingerspelling, numbers, terminology, occupations and Deaf Culture norms. This workshop meets once a week and lasts for two hours. Our deaf faculty will teach the workshop.
